Miss Megan - Our Head Dance & Company Teacher
Megan has been dancing since she was 3 years old. She eventually practiced dance at Patapsco High School and Center for the Arts and was a part of their Dance Company. She performed at multiple opportunities such as a D.A.R.E dance program at local Middle and High Schools and performing for adjudications and county wide competitions at Goucher University. After graduating, Megan began teaching and running a recreation program in Bengies Chase teaching 3 year olds to adults. While attending UMBC, she took multiple dance classes under such teachers/choreographers as Doug Hamby. Megan has been teaching at Bear Creek Recreational program for 3 years and has been dancing with Bear Creek for 5 years. She is looking forward to continuing to teach at Bear Creek and working with the amazing dancers she has grown to love.
Hi I'm Rachel. I have been dancing for 19 years. I have many years of experience traveling and taking professional classes and doing dance workshops. I graduated from Patapsco High School & Center for the arts in 2015 and was part of their dance program & company. After graduating I have been able to go back and teach at Patapsco as a special guest artist, teaching various styles of dance. I graduated from CCBC May of 2019 with my associates degree in accounting. I will be continuing my education at UMBC come Spring of 2020. This will be my first year teaching dance with BEar Creek and I am very excited to see what is to come in the upcoming dance season!
Ms. Jamie-Our Newest Teacher
Jamie is a mother of two girls who moved back to her hometown of Dundalk in 2017 after 15 years in Montgomery County. She was introduced to dance by her aunt at the age of 3 and it was instant love! She danced for 14 years at recreation councils across Baltimore county, competed, and spent several years assistant teaching during and post- high school.
Dance found a new place in her life in her twenties as she participated in a small theater group that put on an annual New Years Eve play. Eventually she took over choreography for this theater group, teaching adults of all skill levels how to have fun through dance! Her hope was to always find an outlet for her passion for dance.
When the time came to move back to Dundalk, it was a pleasant surprise to reconnect with her childhood friend and fellow dancer. It was the perfect time for Jamie to take the next step and start teaching children again at the recreation council she once danced with, at the invitation of her friend. It was a joy and privilege to spend the 2017-2018 year teaching dance with the Kingsville Recreation Council.
Currently, Jamie spends her days as a nanny and caretaker for her grandmother and she is SUPER EXCITED to join the Bear Creek Dance family as a teacher this year! She can't wait to meet her new students and their families right in her own neighborhood. She's looking forward to a fun and fabulous dance year!
