Kristin Chucoski started her dance journey at Jeanette Brown Studio at the age of three. She attended Patapsco High School and Center for the Arts where she was in the Dance Magnet and was the only student from there to go onto the First All-County Dance Ensemble. She then received her Bachelors at University of Maryland, Baltimore County where she received a Linehan Artist Scholarship which funded her schooling for the four years she attended. Kristin has been teaching at Bear Creek Recreational Dance for four years and counting! And she can't wait for another year!!
Traci first started her dance training at True Motion School of Dance at the age 4. She was later accepted into Patapsco High School & Center for the Arts Dance Magnet Program. Upon graduation Traci received the dance department award for outstanding effort and achievement along with a scholarship from True Motion. She continued her dance training at the Community College of Baltimore County Essex, where she received the Larry White Memorial Dance Scholarship, and graduated Magna Cum Laude with an Associate of Fine Arts Degree in Dance. Traci attended UMBC with a Fine Arts and Academic Scholarship, and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Dance Performance and was awarded the title of Outstanding Senior in Dance Performance.
Traci has been a very successful instructor at the Garrison Forest Boarding School, and True Motion School of Dance teaching students ages 3-adult. She is proficient and professionally trained in ballet, modern, jazz, tap and hip-hop. An experienced choreographer, Traci has created several works for UMBC and Community College of Baltimore.
Traci has performed with the professional Dance Companies Baltimore Dance Project, Rooted Dance Productions and has also performed in various musicals and other shows.
Traci has also volunteered with D.A.R.E DANCER, collaborated with Clancy Works Dance Company performing at middle and high schools to promote drug abuse resistance education, and as an Audition Assistant for the Dance Magnet auditions at Patapsco High School & Center for the Arts.
This will be Traci’s third year teaching dance with Bear Creek. We look forward to her continuing expertise in Dance instruction and choreography having a significant positive impact on our program.
As a child, Jamie studied ballet, tap, jazz, and pointe at the Jean Kettell Studio of Dance from age 4 to age 16. For High School, Jamie attended Carver Center for Arts and Technology, where she studied ballet, pointe, and modern. After high school, Jamie continued dancing for Loyola College's Dance Company, where she studied ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and hip-hop.
Maria del Carmen Vitery
Maria del Carmen Vitery started her ballet training in Trujillo, Peru, where she was trained by Estela Puga and Cuban principal dancer Daniel Santos. She continued her dance training in the U.S. at Rockville Civic Ballet, Washington ballet, Montgomery College, Paul Taylor dance school, and University of Maryland, Baltimore County. In 2008, she received the exemplary Dance student award and dance scholarship at Montgomery College. She had the privilege to study the Vaganova Ballet technique for a full summer at the Vaganova school in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Ms. Vitery holds a degree in dance and one biochemistry. She has choreographed modern and contemporary ballet pieces for Montgomery College, open marley night, and UMBC. In 2013, she reveived her ABT ballet teaching certification. She still continues to teach, perform and choreograph in the MD area.
Megan has been dancing since she was 3 years old. Megan has danced under the Bengies-Chase Recreation for 20 years. The past three years, Megan along with two other instructors, ran and taught the dance program through Bengies-Chase Recreation.
Megan attended Patapsco High School and Center for the Arts and was accepted in to their Dance Magnet Program. During her attendance, she was a part of the Dance Company for all four years and graduated with a small scholarship from the dance department. Megan also competed in multiple showcases with the Dance Company.
Megan then moved on to UMBC, where she graduated with her Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology. While working on her Bachelors degree, Megan took multiple dance classes under UMBC dance instructors.
Even though, Megan is no longer teaching under Bengies-Chase Rec, she is very excited and is looking forward to starting a new journey with the Bear Creek Recreation Dance program.
